VS2003 Runtime error when closing a solution

I been using VS2003 for a few year now...and a few days ago I start getting
an error message when closing a solution or closing VS2003. The error is:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program:...Microsoft Visual Studio .Net 2003\Common7\IDE\devenv.exe
This applicaiton has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual
way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Some times I will get a subsequent error:

devene.exe - Application Error
The exception unknown software exception 0x40000015 occurred in the
application at location 0x7813461a
With some expirimenting, it seems the first msg occurs when I open a
solution that has a database project in it, or create a new db project and
then attempt to close it or VS. The db project can be the only project in
the solution, or one of many...it does not matter.

VS2003
Win2003 server workstation
VS2005-TS Developer and VSS2005 also installed
