Visual Studio .NET 2003 bugfix absense from Microsoft

I'm not sure if this question has been answered or not but I would
like to know exactly why there were no service packs released for
Visual Studio .NET 2003. I've encountered problems with the IDE, not
fatal albeit, but problems which have caused and still cause major
aggravation during development.
With the upcoming release of Visual Studio .NET 2005, I would
recommend users to not quickly adopt it as they may have 2003 before
Microsoft promises a regular service pack release schedule.
Don't get me wrong... Visual Studio .NET 2003 is a nice product and I
use it exclusively at work. I just don't understand how Microsoft
could have such a high profile product which is 2 years old and not
bothered to provide anything to fix the numerous aggravating bugs?
Please, if you are not from Microsoft, don't bother to respond. The
only reply I really care to read will be from a Microsoft employee who
can provide the answer I seek.
Stephen
