If you are going to copy the files to your hard drive and install from
there, make sure that the directory you place the installation files into
has a very short name and is sitting directly off of the drive root.

The problem is most likely that on the installation CD's, the file/folder
structure is such that some file path/names are very close to the 255
character limit of Windows. When you copy the files from the CD to your hard
drive and run from there, you run the risk of creating a path/file name that
is longer than 255 characters.
