Alex thanks for all your assistance I think most of the
serious things are worked out. I do have two issues
left, maybe you or someone can assist.
1. When using Web Matrix I can now connect to the IIS
server, however it is not through the box that pops up
when you try and start the program. When I try and
access the program through that box I get this message:
"Unable to create and initialize a new virtual root
with the name 'http:\\localhost\displaymessage.aspx'
Check that IIS is correctly installed and is enabled, and
that you have administrative privledges needed to create
IIS applications."
I can connect to the IIS by going to start and run and
typing in the above address in the run box and hitting
enter. So something must be right with the IIS.
2. I recently installed VS.NET 2003 and when I try and
open a new ASP.NET project I get the following message:
"Visual Studio.Net has detected that the specified web
server is not running ASP.NET version1.1 you will be
unable to run ASP.NET web applications or services.
Are these two issues related??
Thanks again to anyone who has helped me so far. I am
just about there.
