Thanks for all the information I went through all the
steps and I'll tell you what was already set and what had
to be changed. I think that I screwed up something along
the way.
-The firewall listed programs that
in the exceptions tab that were blocked by the firewall
theses included:
  -Active X control test container
  -File and Printer Sharing
  -Messenger
  -Remote Assistance
  -UPnP Framework
  -Web Server
I originally miunderstood the exceptions tab and added
ASP.NET Web Matrix and Visual Studio.NET 2003 to the box
and checked them ( I now see that I shouldn't of done
that)
In the advanced tab under network settings I have Local
Area Connection and Verizon Online (both checked)
The MMC for Default web site was already set at
UNASSIGNED.
On the HOME tab configuration all the boxes you stated
were checked already.
on the MM IIS Directory Security I checked the boxes you
said.
On the server extension tab I clicked Enable Authoring
I restarted IIS by clicking disconnect and the clicking
connect and typing in the computer name in the box.
In the user rights area I THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM?!?
When I went to the groups category and you said add the
following accounts: VS Developers and Debugger Users. I
clicked the groups folder and it expanded into this list:
  -Administrator
  -ASPNET
  -mY NAME
  -MY WIFES NAME
  -MY SONS NAME
  -MY DAUGHTERS NAME
  -GUEST
  -iusr...
  -iwam...
  -sql DEBUGGER
  -SUPPORT 38
  -SUPPORT 3F
  -HELP ASSISTANT
AND now VISUAL DEVELOPER since i tried to add that
account ( I don't think I did it right because it now
appears on the windows XP login page after the names of
my family members. I didn't try to add debugger users
because it thought I screwed up the other thing.
I tried opening a ASP.NET project on VS NET, but still
the same old message "NOT RESPONDING"
Thanks for any help Alex or anyone else
