I experience this problem all the time when I send an HTML message using the SMTP function within .NET. Currently I am using the stringbuilder function to concatenate lengthy sentences together, but the output looks fine. Somewhere between the time the message leaves my computer and it arrives in an Inbox, the "! " is being added every so often throughout the mssage.
I've not discovered a solution to this problem yet, and would be interested in getting one.
