Another way to do it, from what I recall, is to change the number of projects
to keep in the mru list (Tools/Options/Environment/General/Display x items in
most recently used lists) down to the minimum (0 or 1), close, re-open, and
then restore the mru count to the value of your choosing. However, with this
method (if it still works), nukes all of your MRU projects.
Aside from editing the registry, the method that I outlined is the only one
that I know of. There supposedly was an add-on that would allow you to manage
the mru list, but last time I tried, it was so buggy that I couldn't get it to
do anything.
