VS 2008 Web Projects will not debug - filename...syntax is incorre

Greetings,

I have been using and continue to use VS 2005 Team Suite. I can debug both
Web Applications and Web Services in that IDE fine.

I recently installed VS 2008 Team Developer. In that IDE I can NOT debug
either Web Applications nor Web Services. After clicking "Start Debugging
(F5)" the Output Window indicates the IDE attatched to aspnet_wp.exe -
succeeded. which loads several assemblies. but then instead of poping up a
browser (like it is supposed to, and VS 2005 does) it pops up Notepad.exe and
a Notepad error dialog saying "The filename, directory name, or volume label
syntax is incorrect."

I can not find what: filename, directory or volume label it is having
problems with.
And if this is having trouble, why does 2005 not? They are installed on the
same workstation so all the filenames, directories, and volume lables should
be the same.

I have tried to "Repair" the install.
Uninstalled
Reinstalled

Can anyone help me locate the problem.

Thanks much,
