VS2005 Remote Debugger not launching in 2008 server

I cant get the vs2005 debugger to launch on a 2008 server, it complains about
the firewall ports not being open and presents a dialog box to open them but
fails when I select any of the options. The firewall ports are open and the
vs2008 debugger works fine.
