Visual Studio locking-up for all debug functions

I've been using Visual Studio .NET for about 6 months. I have installed and reinstall VS.NET several times. Everything has worked just fine, but now I have a problem with the DEBUGGING functions.

Yesterday I did a complete NEW install of VS.NET (including the prequisites and a reinstall of .NET Framework 1.1). After the install, everything worked just fine, including the debugging functions (e.g., Start with debugging and Start without Debugging).

Today (after shutting down and restarting my PC), the VS.NET response is as it was before I did the new reinstall yesterday. The software "hangs/locks" whenever I click on a (any) debug function (Start with Debugging, Processes, etc.).

The computer hangs up (when in VS.NET and I click a debug function) and I need to do a Control-ALT-Delete to end the denenv process. My projects are simple data grids in a Windows form application. The projects work fine and give me the results that I expect, as long as I don't select a debug function.

This problem seems to be a general problem (effecting all of my projects) and related to the VS debugger.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to what might be wrong. Again, everything works fine (debug mode and non-debug mode) when I do a new installation of VS.NET. But when I shutdown and restart, the debug functions no longer work.

Thanks for our feedback.
