Re: Printing / Wireless / Airport Extreme / HP 5600

You'd have to check with HP as to whether those additional features are network enabled. Most scanners are NOT networkable, so you might also want to connect the printer to your XP PC or Vista PC with a cable for the occasions when you wish to use the scanner and card reader. If you are specifically looking for a networkable scanner, other than very large commercial units that companies lease rather than purchase, Epson make a few standalone units, they start at around $3,000, so generally it's a lot less $s to buy a few standalone scanners for your network.

Hello all. I was wondering if one/some of you gurus could help me out.
I am running a new wireless network with a pc running WIN XP, an HP PSC
2210 All-In-One, and an Apple Airport Extreme (router). It has taken me
forever to figure out how to get the printer associated with the correct
driver (it now is and fully up to date) and to print through the network
but that stage is complete. I am now trying to figure out how to make
the additional features of the printer available on the network. Those
being, the media card reader and scanner.

When the printer is connected directly to the pc My Computer shows a
removable media drive and camera/scanner for the printer. However, when
the printer is connected over the network, I cannot find these anywhere.
I'm wondering if this is another setup issue or if I'm simply looking
in the wrong places.

Any thoughts/ideas would be greatly appreciated!
