Re: Can't print from IE7 on Vista

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi ! - I am back again !

Just received the following fix from HP. It does work (dont forget to
restart IE), however everytime you restart the browser you get the
annoying pop-up tab warning you that there is a message in the
information bar which tells you that the security mode is switched off.
Not sure what other implications there are for having it switched off
!!! Hopefully a fix for the AVG Problem might allow us to re-enable the
protected mode.
..................Here is the fix......

::This could be due to Protected Mode feature included in Internet
Explorer 7 in Windows Vista. Depending on how you choose to print, you
may receive an error message, or the print dialog may simply not appear.
To correct this issue, you will need to disable Protected Mode in your
browser. To do this, perform the steps given below:::
::1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools, then Internet Options.
2. Click the Security tab.
3. Click to remove the checkmark from the Enable Protected Mode
checkbox.
4. Click OK to save your settings. You will receive a dialog saying
that disabling Protected Mode wil put your computer at risk. Click OK to
clear this message.
5. Restart Internet Explorer.

Now try printing or saving web pages in Favourites. Also, I recommend
you to try printing using an alternative browser such as Mozilla Firefox
or the Opera Browser. ::
