Ok,

I have tried to run the advanced recovery but this does not seem to be
working, it doesnt show any vista version to repair, therefore the
restore does not seem to work. Startup repair is not helping just states
that the problem cannot be solved which is what i hate about windows!

Bootrec in dos prompt seems to be the only option that is showing any
helpful signs of movement. Before I try to rebuild the Boot data there
is one question. I have a partition with all the data on d: and programs
and vista on c: ,when using rebuild bcd does this mean that the
information on both c: and d: is erased? because I really need the
information stored on my d: drive.

Also it seems that in the Windows RE when trying to open c: through
load drivers, an error comes up saying the c: needs to be formatted.
However, when I say format response is that c: is unformattable.

Unless someone can help me it seems like I might need to take the hard
disk out remove my data and then restore factory settings? Or possibly
try to use something like ubuntu?
