Are you sure its not Temperature related, have you measured the CPU temp. Try Core Temp its free.
Run ATI CCC and set 3d settings to... use application setting, and see if it makes any difference.
Enable ATI overdrive and check your GPU temperature.
Also test your memory use Memtest+86 to create a boot cd and then run it thouroughly.
Use Hardware manager to confirm your Graphics card is running with the latest drivers and there are no problems showing.
