Performance Help?

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance


Hey guys.

Here are the specs:

Dell 1720
Windows Vista Ultimate x64
2 GB Memory
NVidia GeForce 8600M GT
Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.2GHz

I guess those are the main specs, if you need more let me know.

But earlier I was running a few programs, and for some reason the
YouTube video I was viewing was skipping or breaking like every 10-15
seconds. I was running:

Firefox with a few tabs
Foobar2000
HJSplit

And that is basically it.

It seems like I am getting weird performance, or is this typical?

The CPU was only using like 20% and memory said about 1.20 GB used in
Task Manager.

And yesterday I was installing Fable, and I had tabs open in Firefox,
and Foobar2000 listening to music, and even then I would hear the audio
from Foobar skip every 10 seconds or so.

I just don't understand why it seems like I am getting a weird
performance when most resources aren't being used.
