that it's activated, it still won't come out of RFM, I even
beSP1 in
hopes that would bring it back. What else do I need to do to get my
desktop
and functionally back, this program cost me to much money for it to
Managerso
screwed up like it is.
Can someone please offer me advise on how to get my computer out of
RFM?
Another problem while I'm writing this is, my computer's Task
is
grayed out, how can I activate it so it can be used?
Thanks for your help and/or advise in advance.> > > >
Hi Stan,
Stange. If your Vista is activated, then it should not be in RFM.
tutorial may help you get out of it.http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/121866-reduced-functionality-mode.html
Hope this helps,
Shawn

Thanks for the reply, I looked over the information you sent and read
your
comments, I agree, Vista should not be in RFM once it is activated. I
paid
over $400 for Vista Ultimate and I be damned if I buy another Product
Key
from Microsoft for a product that should work out of the box. If I
reinstall
I lose all important data if I don't back it up or move it, that
ranges right
now nearly 750GBs, It won't do an upgrade so I don't lose my stuff,
it want
to do a clean (new) install, one of my friends did that and Vista
wouldn't
accept his Product key again, told him it was for Windows Server
2008, or if
wasn't a valid key.
All I want is to get my desktop functions back. I've never been so
disappointed in a product as I am Windows Vista. Since I've install
SP1 that
nullifies the RFM if I'm reading these comments correctly.
Like so many others before me, Apple MAC is looking better and
better, never
hear any problems with their OS, as it stands today, I'd never
recommend
Vista to my company or our clients, it's a nightmare.
I'll work this out or trash this mess, write it off as a bad
experience and
move on to a more reliable OS.
Again thanks for the advise, sorry for the rant, but this is quite
frustrating
Regards
Stan,
By chance, is your Vista an upgrade version?

Sorry for the delay in responding, to answer your question, it was Brand New
out of the box. And for some reason my Task Manager is grayed out and will
not work, that also sucks. I've been using Microsoft since Windows Version 1
came out, Vista has got to be the worst I've ever come across.
