First, you need a way to download video from YouTube.

Second, you need a utility to convert FLV and MP4 to MP3.


I use Firefox 3.5.3 and addon FlashGot to download video from YouTube.

You pick a video and start playing to get a link.

Right-click on a empty spot on the webpage to bring up the context menu and look for parenthesis around a number next to FlashGot. The number indicates the number of video links it caught.

Once you download the video use a video to MP3 audio converter to rip the audio from the video format. YouTube uses FLV (Flash Video) and MP4 video formats.
