Re: Unsubscription From This Newsgroup

This is my farewell post. The above "junk" conversations cumulatively constitute malware. If regularly deleted by a user to the extent that every last piece of disruptive junk is deleted, the program, in order to conceal the author's identity, buys "escape" time by triggering the deletion of all posts in the user's compacted subscribed posts.

Thanks for the responses. I get so used to people knocking "Vista" that I unthinkingly followed suit. Thank you for correcting me, Dave. There is, of course, a choice of mail applications ("programs" in Oldspeak). I also have Windows Mail installed but mostly prefer Live Mail. John Inzer, I believe, is content with Outlook Express. I learned the difference between an application and an operating system shortly after joining International Computers Limited in 1970.

The question I posed (not very succinctly) was really an expression of irritation and an invitation for others to say whether they'd had the same experience. The automatic unsubscriptions I have experienced seem to have happened during or shortly after deleting the daily avalanche of junk mail. Recovery is not difficult but annoyance is maximised.

Thank you for reading this conversation

Why does Vista keep automatically unsubscribing me from this newsgroup? I
am fully convinced that Vista is too unstable for use in any serious and/or
critical applications.

Your operating system doesn't subscribe or unsubscribe you from any
newsgroup. Without sounding too rude, you really need to learn the
difference between an operating system and an application before going
further.

From your headers, you're using Microsoft Windows Live Mail, so you'll
probably want to start looking at Windows Live Mail's newsgroups for
assistance.
