Do you have Windows Vista Service Pack 1 on this system? Service Pack 1 has
an important AVI audio playback fix that allows for malformed AVI content to
produce audio still. This problem is most often seen coming from video
camera-produced AVI. Several vendors have released firmware updates for
their cameras to fix their produced AVIs, but upgrading to Service Pack 1
should fix you up regardless.

I have a JVC Digital Video Recorder and I have lost the install CD. When I
first got this I had my XP machine and now I have a Vista machine.
When I copy the video files from the memory card to my PC there is no
sound
on the video when playing in Windows Media Player. When I play them
inside
a video production using Roxio EMC 10 they will play. I know (or think I
know) that this is a CODEC problem but I cannot find anything on the web
that works to fix this problem.
Thanks,
John
