Well, then you have to wipe out the message store and make a new one to get
rid of that. You can move the entire contents of the message store to a
directory under your Documents. Then start WinMail and it will start clean
with nothing and you can then use File | Import | Messages and point to the
directory where you saved them.

Hi Steve,
Unfortunately, leaving Windows Mail open overnight did not help. Thanks,

You might leave WinMail open overnight and see if the "recovery process"
will finish. Then you can try the repair function of WMUtil and then
deleting them again.

Hello,
I uninstalled WinZip and then I was able to run the File Statistics -
2320
Total Files 0 zero byte files & Clean Blank Files - 2320 Total Files
0
zero byte files.
For today my Windows Mail - Recovery Folder has 7 empty folders,
automatically are numerically named. I usually delete them each day
and/or
whenever I open use Windows Mail. I've deleted the actual Revovery
Folder
but
it keeps cloning itself. Other than the annoyance of losing many of my
folders a few weeks ago, the e-mail appears by the naked eye to be
running
normal. Any other suggestions?
Thanks,
Penni

Thanks for the clarification. Just save the file to the desktop and
then
right click on it and choose extract. You don't need winzip. They
used
to
be free, but I guess someone took them over and now they are very
aggressive.

Hi Steve,
I believe the problem is with WinZip and not your software, WinZip
is
the
program that is prompting me to register and needing a key. Thanks
"Steve Cochran" wrote:
There is no product key or registration. WMUtil is free. Just
save
the
file to the desktop and unzip it and run it.

Steve, I'm sorry but I did download it from that web address &
the
bottom
of
the page did have Stephen L Cochran, PhD. I will try to save it
to
my
desktop
again and see if something different happens. Thank you.

You haven't downloaded WMUTil from my website then, as nothing I
have
on
the
website requires a registration and a key. Why are people
constantly
confusing some other software with mine?

Try running my Windows Mail utility to compact and repair the

I made the mistake of deleting the recovered messages
folder.
recreated
the folder and the files in that folder keep duplicating
themselves
whenever
mail starts. Is there anyway to stop this?
