If Gary's suggestion didn't work, you can drag the messages from Explorer and drop them on the WinMail message list to get them back into the WinMail folders. See www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx and the section on Windows Mail.

Hard drive died, replaced, reloaded Vista Premium x64. I can read the
files on the bad hard drive, have attached as an external drive and want
to transfer all Windows Mail files to the new hard drive and then
restart Windows Mail. Is this possible? Can all files be transferred?
The files and folders are in (user name)/App
Data/Local/Microsoft/Windows Mail.
Can I just replace the Windows Mail folder with the folder from the old
drive?
Are there additional files that will need to be copied?
Thanks.
Paul
