Re: All my email messages disappeared

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

It happens because Windows Mail is buggy, and very easily corrupted
by antivirus programs. In the long run, you'd be better off upgrading to
Windows Live Mail: http://download.live.com/wlmail

this happened. Anyway, thanks to Steve and Hal. I really appreciate you

Ok Steve, I'll give it a try. Wish me luck !!

Open Windows Explorer to the directory of eml files. Then open WinMail
and
create a new folder and go to that new folder so that it shows an empty
message list. Then select an eml file and drag it from the Explorer
window
overtop the message list and drop it and it will get incorporated into
that
folder. Once you get that working, you can select all the eml files and
drag and drop them all at once, as long as they are only eml files.

Also, go to Control Panel | Folder Options | View and uncheck the option
to
hide extensions for known file types so that you can more readily
distinguish the eml files.

No, nothing there. I think I know what happened. I was cleaning up
the
icons on my desktop to folders. There was a folder called New Folder
and
I
moved it to a Web Favorites folder on my desktop and that is where my
messages are hiding. What the heck happened? I don't even know where
this
folder came from. So, how do I get the msgs back ? Will the
copy/paste
method work ?
Thank you!

How about the "Hide" selections (Read messages, Read or Ignored
messages,
and Answered messages), are they all UNchecked? If any of these have
checkmarks, you will be hiding messages from view.

Hi Hal,
Show All Messages is checked. Any other suggestions?
Thank you!

'View|Current View', make sure you don't have any of the "Hide
messages"
selections checked and that "Show All Messages" is checked.
