Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hello, my ISP is AT&T (formerly SBCGLOBAL). I'm trying to use Windows Mail...I'm currently a Yahoo Mail user. Do I use the ID in the Windows Mail Properties panel for my ID when Windows Mail prompts me for it? I've tried numerous IDs and Windows Mail doesn't like any of them. I got this error when trying to Send/Receive the billions of emails that've accumulated in my Windows Mail Inbox since I began messing around w/ Windows Mail.
Here's the error msg that I receive:
Account: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Server: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR [AUTH] invalid user/password', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92
Thank you.
