Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Now we're getting somewhere. 530 errors are authentication problems. If you've followed GMail's setup instructions, about the only other cause is an AntiVirus application setup to scan email that has a problem. Are you running one? Posting the entire error messages would also be a big help.

The IT person is very good--we spent an hour trying different
configurations--even the gmail accounts didn't work followed complete
instructions

So, when all this cannot stuff happens, do you get any error messages? Does
this IT guy from the university know Windows or is he strictly Unix/Linux?
Are you running an AntiVirus application setup to scan your email? What
