I am having problems setting up microsoft mail. it asks me for e-mail
server
names but i have no idea what server name should be. there are three
chooses
POP3,IMAP,HTTM---that's for incoming mail. for outgoing email
server---SMTP.
i HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO DO??
PLEASE HELP
Follow the money.
Ask your ISP and follow the instruction they have provided for you
in their documentation and web sites, in conjunction with the copious
Help facilities in Windows.
Google and Wikipedia can explain terms like SMTP and POP
directly far easier that it would be for someone else copying it
out for you. Use your computer.
Help yourself by learning a little bit.
for?
ISP means Internet Service Provider.
Follow the money means... You pay an ISP and in return they connect you
to the Internet and as a part of that package give you access to email
servers.
As well as access the ISP's also, invariably, agree to help you use the
service
by having instruction manuals, often on paper but more likely on web sites,
and technicians available to help you further.
Sooo.. you have paid these people to help you and they are the experts in
your
particular case... let them earn their money.
Who is your ISP? (How do you connect to the internet?)
Everything I tell you and more Is available to you at your fingertips.
A significant part of what you pay for computers, software and internet
access has been spent by the vendors in creating copius help facilities...
you've paid for them so you might as well use them.
On Vista there is a round icon on the lower left hand corner...

Click on that and you will see and Option "Help & Support"
Click on that and you can find everything you ask here and far
more. Use it and set your elf free..
Have you got any, over 7yo, children?.
if so ask them to teach you about your computer
otherwise ask your mummy or daddy.
