Re: Windows mail send/receive

You say "I am with tdcmail.se" but it is not clear if that is just
your mail provider or also your ISP. If your ISP is different, it
will block access to other port 25 SMTP servers. The reason for
that is explained here:

http://www.postcastserver.com/help/Port_25_Blocking.aspx

As a general rule, the owner of the SMTP server must match the
entity providing the Internet connection.

The available workarounds are as follows:

1. Use webmail for sending (via your browser).
2. Ask tdcmail.se if they have a port other than '25' for SMTP.
3. Substitute the SMTP server belonging to your ISP.
This is a bit tricky, but if you want to go that route, I can provide
more details.
4. If you use a mobile laptop and frequently send from multiple
locations, get a free Gmail account, configure it for POP access,
and use that for your sending chores.
Gmail uses port 465 for SMTP, which is not blocked like port 25 is.

My windows mail stopped working a few days ago.
I deleted the account and re-installed but no luck.

When I send/receive I get the following message.
The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'test', Account:
'mail.mytdc.se', Server: 'smtp.mytdc.se', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

When I select to just receive all it looks as though it has worked with
no error messages but I receive nothing.

I am with tdcmail.se

I had this problem before and i fixed it but cant remeber how.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
