Re: Using a Logo email signatures

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I have been also following this discussion and it is really frustrating to
try these things and not get the desired result. To add to the discussion, I
used Notepad to create the HTML file referencing my logo path. Then I
inserted the Notepad file that I created in Tools/options/Signatures/file
Browse sequence and Apply. Seemed to work OK but when I looked at a new
email it just created the the text of the HTML file that I had created in
Notepad. Seems I am almost there but Urgh!!!

Hi all,

I have been following this discussion as i am having the same problem.

when i create a signature in html with my logo (referenced to a remote
source on my website, such as src: http://www.......) and try to use this
signature in replies to people, the image won't show (note that if i create a
blank email and then insert the signature it works fine).

Does anybody know how to resolve this problem as its driving me mad?

Many thanks for any help

Danny

Windows Mail has a size limit on signature files - 4K. Not many HTML files
are that small.

Hi
I came across this post and was wondering if you ever got it resolved as I
am trying to figure out the same thing regarding embedding my website logo
as
my signature at the end of all my emails. I have Windows Vista and
Windows
Mail and my server is comcast.
Also, can you share with me how to save my logo as .html?
Thanks in advance for your time,
Michelle

Before I had Windows Vista, I had an email signature which included an
image.

I have tried inserting the image from file but it just appears as a box
with
a red cross even if I create my message as Rich Text HTML. Have also
tried
creating the signature in Dreamweaver and linking to the image that way
but
the same thing happens.

Is this another of those quirky Windows Vista things? I have had
problems
with receiving emails, installing Adobe CS3 and a Hewlett Packard
printer,
the latter two requiring me to alter my registry.

On another website this evening, I have found people who seem to be
experiencing the same problem as me and the advice was to amend the
registry.
Apparently there is a registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0\Outlook\Security. It
contains
a key called "OutlookSecureTempFolder ". When that key is deleted that
key,
all images are supposed to show. See
http://www.tek-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=1353596&page=8

Can anyone offer advise on whether I should proceed with this. Changing
the
registry scares me immensely.

Ideally what I would like to do once I can see my images again, is to
create
a signature with my website logo that links through to my website.

Would be grateful for any advice.

Thank you
