The error message below occurs because there is not a valid
mail server name specified.
Go to Tools, Accounts, inspect that "POP3" account. Is it a rogue
account? If so, delete it. If not, get the correct mail server name for
that account.

Gary, that worked!, I deleted my messages in my out box, and it stopped those.
little annoying information bars coming up.
I now have only one error message. It's when I first open "Windows mail".
When it first opens, it opens in my inbox showing the welcoming message from
Microsoft, I don't know if this is significant or normal. Anyway, within
seconds of "Mail" opening up, an error message pops up saying:-
The host 'POP3' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the
server name correctly.
Account: 'POP3', Server: 'POP3', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
Socket Error: 11001, Error Number: 0x800CCC0D
Could you point me in the right direction as to rectifying this problem? If
you can, then I believe that all the problems with my "Mail", will be sorted.
Thanks

Sounds like you have some corrupted messages sitting in the Outbox.
Open the Outbox folder. Inspect the messages in that folder. you want to
save any of them, move them to the Drafts folder. Delete the rest.

Mac, why have you been insisting that I move over to the
live.desktop.newsgroup?
Have you got shares with them or something.
Ok, regarding the newsgroups:- I tried both routes, Yours Gary and Yours Mac.
They both worked but, one of them was bringing up not just the English
language posts, but other foreign language posts as well. Very strange?
Any way, that worked and I think I can figure out what one's to pick.
I then tried to exit "Windows mail" I get A yellow error sign! This one.
tells me: - "one or more messages in your outbox do not have a valid account
specified, would you like to use your default account to send these
messages?" So I clicked "yes"
and it brought up "You have unsent messages in your outbox, would you like
to send them now?" I then clicked "yes" and low and behold!, it showed the
icon of a tray sending messages, and after that it brought up the original
error messages that I posted in my earlier posts regarding the "pop3"etc.
It's Like a vicious circle.
I read all the welcoming letter from Microsoft, but I'm still none the
wiser. What would happen if I left certain Panes blank instead of having
"pop3" typed in?
