Some email servers require you to enter you username with no spaces
and no CAPITAL LETTERS. Some require that you follow it with
the part of your email address that starts with @, and some require that
you don't. Many require that you be careful about which letters in
your password are CAPITAL and which are lowercase. Many
give rather vague error messages if they find anything at all wrong with
your username and/or password.
Also, Comcast has started requiring the following change for some of its
users, without being good about telling them in advance:

Although these instructions were written for Outlook Express, they
should also work under Windows Mail if you avoid the One Click
Fix. They don't seem to have written the port number change into
their Windows Mail instructions yet.

Hi.
Whenever i open Windows Mail, i get a bout a 30 pause, then a "windows
security" box pops up saying:
LOGON TO HOME
Please verify that both the username and password are correct for your
server.
There are then 2 boxes where i have to write my username and password,
with
a box below which you can tick which says: Remember My Credentials.
Ok, so everytime this box pops up, and i fill in the details, and tick
the
box, and then click "ok". Straight away it will pop up again, with all
the
spaces empty, so away i go again and fill it all in and tick the box.
THis
has to be done between 10-15 times before it will let me into Windows
mail.
Any ideas how to get it sorted?
I have gone into "Tools"- "Accounts" and made sure that "Remember
Password"
is ticked.
Its driving me mad, any solutions greatly recieved
Thx in advance
.
