The reason you are getting that error is because you have a typo in the
outgoing (SMTP) server name. Change smpt.tools.sky.com to
smtp.tools.sky.com.

Secondly, if AVG is installed using the default install, its mail checking
module can cause problems. Uninstall AVG, then reinstall, choosing
custom install, which then allows you to deselect installation of the mail
scanning feature.
After you have done both of the above, delete that mail account, then
restart Windows Mail and recreate the account. If you still get an
error message, right-click on it, copy, then paste it into a reply here.

Thanks for the advice but I'm still getting the same error messages after carrying out the steps you suggested. Error message is pasted below.
