You have two choices: 1. Install Outlook on your Vista machine, so Windows
Mail can use part of it during the import. You've already rejected that
one, so
I won't mention the details. 2. First, import the messages from Outlook to
Outlook Express on your old machine, then import them from Outlook Express
to Windows Mail.

Copy the files to a directory on the hard drive of your new computer, then
make sure they are read-write instead of readonly before you tell Windows
Mail to import this entire directory.

We are not asking for Outlook, we are asking how we can copy our email
from Windows XP with Outlook to our new main pc Vista Business with
Windows Mail. It's Microsoft that are supplying this email client on the
Business version of the OS, we just expected it to be able to imort email
from their own email client that's 5+ years old.

Outlook does not come with Vista Business, it's part of Microsoft Office
or can be purchased separately.
