Re: Windows Live Mail

Hi Gary,

Didn't know it was considered a workaround. Guess it depends on your order of doing things. I just type in the names and when I hit send or go to compose the email, everything is good. Take Care and thanks for the info.

That explains it. Hitting Tab after typing a few characters is a
known workaround, and for many of us, it worked prior to SP1 also.
To me, it is one of several little things that just don't work right in
WM, which is why I've switched to WLM for email.

Hi Gary,

I didn't get it to work, it just did. It will not auto complete until I
tab out of the To: line. I generally put the addys in and then compose
the email. When I type part of the name (first or last) and then tab
down to write the email, it will auto complete if there is only one
choice. If there are more than one possibility, it will wait till I hit
send to offer choices. I have noticed that if I type just a last name
and it is part of the last 29, it will try to use that name. If I want a
different one than that, I must type the whole name to get the correct
one. This just started happening after recent updates. Maybe because of
the update or maybe because I have sent email to someone with the same
last name recently. Not sure which. If it is not auto completing while
you are in the email try hitting the send button and then go into the
Outbox and see if the correct addy has been added. Pre SP1 it wouldn't
show me the addy, but just go to the outbox. When I checked the outbox,
it had the correct email. Try a test with a fake contact. Please let me
know, as this seems to be very confusing to most people. I do know of
others that it works for. Gary
