Activation Error

I'm sorry if I have placed this in the wrong board.

I have been running Vista for a little while now. Recently,
my desktop started changing to a flat black. Every time
I set a desktop image it changed back to black.

I started to look into it and realized my copy of Windows
Vista wasn't fully activated. I obtained my product key and
proceeded to activate.

When I entered the key, it said it may take a few minutes.
A little over ten seconds passed when I got an error. Error
Code: 0xC004E003 to be exact. It also said "The software
licensing service reported that the license evaluation failed."

I ran a diagnostics test to obtain my personal computer settings.
I own a Dell Latitude D610.
