Try to delete the number 3 free space, instead of number 4.

Hi
Just got myself a Dell Inspiron 1525. It has a hardisk of 250GB.
There are two partitions - HDisk drives - C: of 220GB, the D: drive of
10 GB for Recovery!
I wud like to divide the C drive into atleast 2 smaller parts.
When I went to Disk Managment - there it shows me 4 drives
1) C : Operating system and primary (220 GB)
2) D : - Recovery (10GB)
3) (unnamed) - 2.50GB free space
4) (unnamed) - "for EISA config" - (71MB)
I successfully "shrink" the C drive - and creatd an "unallocted" 90GB
space:)
I then use "new simple volume" on this using the wizard !..:)
but at the end the message is
"YOU CANNOT CREATE a new volume in this unallocated space because the
disk already contains the maximum number of partitions"
I am aware that Vista normally allows only 4 parititions:eek:
So I went back and tried to delete the 4th (2.50GB)... but then it gave
a warning message that vista may not be able to revert thecondidtion
etccc
Can anyone help... could not find this problem tackled earlier!
