Hi,
You can run the 32-bit version on the 64-bit hardware, but it's unnecessary. I find that x64 runs just fine on 2GB of ram.

Hi,
I have a laptop which came with 64 bit vista ultimate pre-installed. I
read online that 64 bit vista ultimate requires minimum 4G RAM for good
performance. Since, I have only 2G RAM (max support by hardware) I
thought of migrating to 32 bit vista ultimate.
Please advise if running 32 bit vista ultimate on a 64 bit hardware
(Intel Core2Duo T7200, 2.0 GHz) with 2G RAM have any significant
performance boost?
Thank you,
Mahesh
