I will soon be getting a new Dell computer with Vista Business. I am
trying to collect information that may be needed for the initial install

on the new computer. I currently have a DSL internet connection using the
2Wire 1000HW router. According to AT&T, I will not have to make any
changes
to the router for the new computer. However, I am wondering about the
network connection setup for the new computer. Will I be asked for input
of internet network information during the initial Vista install, and if
so, what type of information do I need?

Apologies for thinking you had multiposted this. I read the first sentence
which was identical to the other post you had made (which I answered) and
assumed you had multiposted. Completely my fault for not being more
thorough.

As Mike said, it will just connect if you are connecting wired (ethernet).
You'll just put the ethernet cable into your computer and attach it to one
of the free ports on the back of your AT&T modem/router. If you are joining
the new machine to your network wirelessly, you'll need to know your
wireless network encryption level and key. If you want to share network
resources with other computers, you'll need to set up file/printer sharing.

Without knowing exactly what your setup is, I won't give you all the details
of wireless connection and file sharing unless you need them. Just let me
know.

Again, please accept my apologies for my not being thorough enough with your
first post. I had already had two cups of tea so sleepiness is no excuse at
all. I am sorry.
