Can I update processor?

I'd appreciate guidance if poss.either with a reply or perhaps sending me to the newsgroup that can answer it.
I have a Dell Inspiron 530 running Vista home basic with:
Model IX INTEL[R] CELERON[R] CPU 420@xxxxxxx
Socket/Slot socket 775[Zif Socket]
Frequency 1600Mhz
FSB speed 200Mhz.
I really don't have much idea about the inside workings of a computer but I gather I may be able to replace the Zif Processor with a faster one to improve speed.
I have plenty of memory so I just wonder if it is worth the trouble,if it can be done.
I am just a light user.
Thanks if you can.
