What Ubuntu can do!

PLAY VIDOES, LMFAO

Not very well I might add. You need to download proprietary CODECs to get anything to play using that INFERIOR Ubuntu. No wonder why so many dismiss Ubuntu.

Ubuntu really sucks.

And Windows Media Player plays DVDs out of the box without downloading CODECs? Puhlease.

With Ubuntu when you slip the DVD in, Totem will ask you if you want to download the CODEC. One click later and you're watching your DVD. If you install Ubuntu Mint, no click necessary.

Take a look at some of the posts in the Ubuntu forum which talks about the same thing. No so easy for some.

I have seen those posts and the replies that fixed it. Some formats need Banshee or VLC Player. BFD. Like I said, if you want to have it all set up with all the CODECs, use Mint.

That said, I installed Windows 7 on a machine the other day and it didn't recognize the NIC so going on line for drivers, CODECs or whatever was impossible until I changed the NIC card. Problems can occur with any OS but usually the problem on a new install is hardware, not the OS. This is computing 101.
