issue
Hi,
I'm logged in on an administrator account, yet I can't access the
folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Everest Poker\history
I get the windows message
"C:\Program Files (x86)EverestPokerhistory is not accessible.
Access is denied.""
I've tried "Taking Ownership" of the folder using a registry tool i
found on google, to no avail. I've been told that I can solve the
by turning off UAC, but I'd rather not compromise security if Idon't
have to. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Although you have taken ownership you also have to
check that you have full control of the file/folder.
Right-click > Properties > Security
Click on Yourname\Administrators and check that you
have full control , if not select ' Edit.. ' and try and give
yourself full control.
Unfortunately when I try to access the folder's security properties I'm
told that "You do not have permission to view this object's security
properties. To view its security properties, you can try taking
ownership of the object. As the owner, you can also control who gets
permissions on the object...." Then I am given a GUI interface that is
supposed to allow me to take ownership, but doesn't. Under "current
owner" it says "Unable to display current owner".
So it seems pretty clear that the "take ownership" tool I used has
failed. Can someone explain to me how to do it using the command
prompt? I've read about cases where this works when the GUI doesn't.
Thanks again.
