Yes. If you want to access the extra ram with a 32 bit OS, you'll
need one of the server versions of MS that supports it or
virtually any Linux.
One thing you forgot. If you use Linux then your programs won't
work so it doesn't matter if you have 1 TB of RAM. If your
programs don't run then you are screwed. Using Linux means you
are screwed.

Your WINDOWS programs, slick. If you have Windows programs they
won't run on Linux.
I don't HAVE ms programs. I don't NEED ms programs. Linux comes with
virtually everything I could ever want preinstalled!

in amount> for a new computer or OS, you should NOT have to spend <fill
in amount> to be productive - it should come with what you need.

Yeah, you're right, frankie. I browse the internet, prepare reports for several organizations, keep track of a dozen or so banking accounts, manage a half dozen or so web sites, edit photos on a fairly regular basis, do a little software development, prepare a few presentations and work with a number of spreadsheets and databases - nothing very profound.

So do you do all that in your basement? Most companies use Microsoft products to be productive.

Instant messaging with over 10 different programs in one including Windows Live Messenger.

What you can't do with Ubuntu:

Worry about:
WPA and WGA raising their ugly heads,
DRM,
Viruses,
Root kits,
Spyware,

Malware.

Hey dip***. You are not very smart. I itemize my bills. When I give an estimate, let's say a task will take 75 hours. On the bill I say 75 hours and give a price. On the next line I put down the tools that I need and give a price. Doesn't cut into my paying work. Oops.
