For peps that would like to install gadgets manually or are having a
hard time to install their Vista Sidebar gadgets you can do the
following steps:
1. Change the extension of the gadget from .gadget to .zip
2. Open up the .zip file
3. Browse to C:\Users\[PROFILE]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows
Sidebar\Gadgets\
note: [PROFILE] is your Windows Vista Profile Name, you'll need to
open up your profile in C:\Users (if C is where you have your Windows OS
installed on)
4. Create a folder in there, and name, but needs to have .gadget at the
end of it. For Example: Blah.gadget
5. Go back to Step 2 when you opened up the .zip file, in there, press
CTRL+A to select all files and folders, CTRL+C to copy and then paste
into the Blah.gadget folder.
6. Open up the Windows Sidebar Gadget Gallery by clicking on the + sign
on the sidebar. Look for the name of the gadget, double click on it to
add it.
- I thought it might be useful for future references.:sa:
