File does not have a programme associated...

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi.

I'm getting the 'file does not have a programme associated with
it....create an association in the Set Associations Control panel'
message, when trying to open a docx file attachment from an email
message (I use Windows Live Mail).

Having read a few of the posts on here and looked at one of the
tutorials I've gone to the control panel and checked the file
associations; docx is in the File Type list with the current default set
at Adope Reader 9.1 so already seems to be linked?

Not sure what else to add; I'm on vista home edition.

Thanks for any advice.
