I have been working on my computer for a week now. I have checked out

about it. I cannot burn to a DVD. No matter what file type and I have
tried lots of DVD's and CD's.

I am going to try and use the installed Restore Discs and hope that
will work.

I just thought I would post at one more forum before I do this.

Also, any suggestions for reinstalling would be helpful.

It is VISTA Home Premium Service Pack 1. 32 bit. It is an HP Pavilion
dv6500 Notebook.:confused:



From you say, I'd say that you're infected with some sort of malware. You can either back up your data and reinstall from the Restore Discs and NOT put Norton on and use AVG, Avast or Avira which are free, much better than Norton and a lot less resource hungry and wait for this kind of infection to happen again OR you can move up to a secure operating system like Ubuntu, which is also free and comes with access to thousands of free programs.
