The only little foot hold Linux has is Web servers. It's been trying for over 10 years to eke out a 1% foot hold on the desktop. Vista out paced Linux out of the gate in a couple of days. :)

Popularity means nothing. Over 95% of computer users get their computers with Windows already installed and haven't even heard of Linux in general and Ubuntu in particular.
