Thanks Captain.
I will change the theme from the sony one to the vista one and also check
for any updates for the graphics card.
Today it has been on all day and I have only had a 2 minute spell this
morning with a white screen. It then righted it's self without me touching
it and has been OK for the rest of the day.

Hi,
I have a Sony Vaio VGN-TZ21WN Laptop. Sometimes when I turn it on
recently I have been getting a white screen straight away. Sometimes it
loads Windows and then I get the screen and sometimes if I wait for a few
minutes the white screen just disappears and I am back onto the desktop.
I thought it might be the cable connection after doing a bit of squeezing
and gentle tapping the screen appeared again so I disconnected the cable
and reconnected it again. It seemed to work for about a day but I think
that is just a coincidence because this morning it reverted back to the
white screen again for about 10 minutes. I didn't touch the laptop and
now the normal screen is back. I also reformatted and recovered the
system back to factory reset. this hasn't made any difference.
Is there anything else I can try or is it a faulty MB?
Cheers
Lenny
I have seen the white screen too on 2 desktop computers...
Its strange and I know what you mean, its not hardware...
I somehow fixed it on my desktop, by fiddling with a few things.. but im
not sure what fixed it.. I upgraded to the latest version of my display
adaptor card and reset the vista theme... to the normal one it has.. aero
