I did what suggest - deleted the new user account (which had a different
name to the one I deleted earlier) via Control Panel>User Accounts,
restarted the machine and created a new user (again with a different name)
but can't log into that account, same message as before. If I look at the
Users folder in Explorer there is no folder the new user although the new
user name appears when you look at the users via User Accounts!!

Is the new user account the same name as the one you deleted? Delete the
new user account thru the control panel>users applet, restart and then
recreate the new user.

I've created a new user account but can't log into it - I always get the
message "The User Profile Service failed the logon. User Profile
cannot be loaded". I can log into all other user accounts.
I am wondering if this has anything to do with the fact that I removed a
user and then deleted the users's folder and all the files in that
folder including NTUSER.dat file.
Is there something I need to do to be able to log into the new user
account(s)?
