turning off display needs to be supported by the drivers / computer
did it worked in the past?

Couple things to try
Try setting your screensaver to Blank ,, I would think all monitors by now accept the blank to go into power savings mode.
Use a screen saver that doesn't animate .. and adjust power options to turn off the monitor
Might also look at your monitor settings, you might see a disable setting on the power saver feature for non energy star conforming video cards.

not sure why but I have my computer to turn off display after 20 mins
but it never does, the screen saver keeps running.....help
