Re: Document not saved

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Folks, I tried everything (turning off Offline files [CSC] on both
sides, the reg hacks, etc, etc) to remedy this problem on my Vista
32-bit/Office 2K7 system, with the exception of the hotfix. No joy:(

Even though I have full admin rights on this server, I could not save
an Excel doc to the share that holds much of what I work on. Found that
I could save to other nearby folders, however!

On a lark, I used the permissions settings to remove the inherited
permissions to the folder, using the option to copy them from above to
preserve the perms. Once I did this, I can save to the folder! I
set the perms back to inherited as they had been, and can still save to
the folder.

I conclude that the permissions to the folder were corrupt, and what I
did corrected that. Somehow Office 2K7, with or without Vista's help,
was unable to deal with the corrupted perms, or perhaps is more paranoid
about the permissions than are previous versions of Office.

Enjoy!
