All right after 2 days of trying to figure out my "Error 2330," I have
finally figured it out. Like most of you I like to keep my software
up-to-date, so I decided to upgrade to the latest iTunes... after doing
so I received the "Error 2330." To my surprise there is not a whole lot
of info on this issue. I manually deleted all references to iTunes,
QuickTime, and Apple from my registry and harddrive and that DIDN'T
work. I ran CCleaner and chdsk /f and that DIDN'T work. I changed
permissions on folders and that DIDN'T work.
What did work was... I extracted the msi files from the iTunes
installation and tried to install them one at a time, that DIDN'T work
but it gave me a clue as to what was going on. While installing
QuickTime it gave me the Error 2330 while it was trying to write to
C:\Program Files\Java. I then went to that folder and I was unable to
access it. I tried deleting it and it wouldn't delete. I was able to
rename it to "Java2old". I then reinstalled Java and the I was able to
re-install iTunes and QuickTime.
The fix for me was:
1) Rename the Java Folder,
2) Reinstall Java
2) Reinstall iTunes and QuickTime
and viola it worked.
Hope that helps.
Chris
