Geeeepers. All this over a leach post. The OP probably does not even see what is posted here as replies . And just to put this to rest the Sony Vaio VGN-NS20E computer that he is supposedly using will undoubtedly tell everyone that is aware of this that the Sony Viao is a lot different than other systems by being proprietary and when the OP installed Ubuntu he had no choice to select from other then having Ubuntu or any other OS overwrite whatever OS was installed. This is a quirk that people have to live with when purchasing a Sony Vaio.
The OP probably was not aware of this as others and the end result was as he posted. The fault lies with Sony and period.

Hi I've recently brought a Sony Vaio VGN-NS20E which came with window's
Vista home basic
Now the problem I have is that I recently got sent a installation CD
for Ubuntu which is like windows XP and vista but is totally different
and has it's own OS system. I installed it and didnt realise that Vista
would be wiped off or maybe it's not I dont no. And now I dont want
Ubuntu anymore and wanting to revert back to Vista but I dont have
re-installation disc with the laptop.
And what would I need to do to get Windows Vista back onto my laptop.
Basically what im saying is that I installed Ubuntu which is **** and
want to get Windows Vista back onto my laptop.
If anybody can help me it would be great.
Thanks For Your Time
Regards
Alfie Smith
